Position Overview

Reports to: Executive Director
Part-time: 15-20 hours/week

Wake Up Narcolepsy, Inc. (WUN) is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to serve as Development Associate. The successful candidate should be highly organized, detail oriented, self-directed, and passionate about serving individuals with a rare and invisible medical disorder and their families. The Development Associate will be responsible for efforts associated with donor outreach, gift processing, and support events including fundraising activities, conferences and other events.

Position Description

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Coordinate events, schedules speakers, schedules status meetings
  • Oversees gift processing, including acknowledgements, donor tracking, funding
  • Maintains donor database; generates queries
  • Assists with activities around donor cultivation/stewardship
  • Drafts materials used for outreach to prospective donors
  • Interface with BOD; notifies of incoming gifts
  • Attend meetings as note taker, tracking action items
  • Provide administrative assistance to the ED as needed
  • Work on special assignments as they arise


Education: Bachelor’s degree

Experience: Minimum five (3) years successful experience in office environment or non profit organization. Experience with development and fundraising a plus.
